Feels like fall.

With the cool breeze running through the August air, I couldn't help but think about the subtle approach of autumn. I can feel it coming. It makes me think of all things cozy. I am gearing up for a season filled with warm soups, cinnamon tea, flannels, camp fires, and golden sunsets.

With all of these fall thoughts running through my mind. I wanted to make some tasty soup. After all, fall is when my crockpot is always on.

Tortilla soup

I never measure anything for soups. Heres whats in it- Chicken Broth, 1 roasted chicken, 1 can black beans (drained), 1 can of corn (drained), 1 tomato, 1 sautéed onion, taco seasoning, salt, black pepper, chalula hot sauce.

topped with spoonful of sour cream, avocado slices, green onions, and crushed up tortilla chips.

So easy, so good.

Garden Dreamers

Create a special world for the little ones in your life.

Growing up, there was never a dull moment, I was the fourth child from a family of 5 kids. My parents let us be free. The memories I have from when I was young are filled with long bike rides, chasing the kitties under the family car, running through the paths in our woods, swinging on the grapevines, and picking the cherries off our cherry tree. We were always barefoot with tangled windblown hair, after being outside for hours. Only coming in, to grab a quick snack. My mother surrounded us with a creative world. Nothing was impossible. So, I'm going to keep my life simple, beautiful, and joyful.

I've been very fortunate to have figured out what it is that makes me happy...

Family.

This is Audrey and Vera, at my mother-in-law Chris' garden. Give them freedom. They'll be happy.

Alexis- petals and sunshine

Luckily, I had the opportunity to meet Alexis at a shoot for her family at a local greenhouse. When I saw her I instantly wanted to photograph her! I loved her long hair and bright blue eyes! I asked her if she would like to model for me and I was so happy to find out she was willing to! A few days later we met up and had an incredible shoot. I made the flower crown out of real roses, hydrangea, and delphinium! We shot at Kingwood Center in the morning and we captured some beautiful light!

Can you believe she is only 13 years old!
